Project Finance Analyst - Infrastructure and Energy

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

The role is to support a large energy project approved in the power development plan and has started implementation. The project is backed by a consortium of world-class companies in the energy sector. In this capacity, the analysts will work together daily to support the senior management, both foreign and Vietnamese. The analyst will regularly engage with regulators, consultants, lawyers, contractors and financial institutions both foreign and Vietnamese. The role can expand to other projects subject to the capabilities of the candidate and demands of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial and economic analysis of potential investments, projects, new markets, new technologies, potential partners, competitors, and M&A targets

- Project development and investment activities including financial modeling, permitting, site control negotiations, and project financing

- Supporting project financing for infrastructure projects, including analyzing potential financing, investment, development, and partnership structures

- Assist in investment and financing documents and contract preparation

- Identify and clearly articulate project finance and insurance risks, opportunities and recommend action(s)

- Coordinate with internal and external resources to perform project development duties to assist Project Team as required

- Coordinate calls with various stakeholders across various time zones

- Support due diligence efforts on equity, debt and M&A transactions

- Prepare slide deck presentations for regulators, investors, lenders and public relations

- Build models for development, project finance and valuation on Microsoft Excel

- Coordinate with the recruitment of and manage research intern and analyst team

- Interact with and establish industry stakeholder relationships with regulators, consultants, lawyers, contractors and financial institutions

- Manage and maintain relationships communication databases

Skills and Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, finance, law or engineering

- 3 to 10 years of experience in investment banking or investment management with a preference for project finance in infrastructure, energy, transport, telecommunications or related field

- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software with strong Excel skills

- Passion for economic, infrastructure and energy development preferred

- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

- Critical thinking and strong analytical skills

- Basic knowledge of energy and infrastructure sector fundamentals including project development, connectivity, energy markets, utilities, permitting contracting and risk management

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal communication skills and assisting in the preparation of executive management presentation materials

- Self-motivated, very self-reliant, and capable of operating with minimum supervision

- Strong time management skills with comfortability managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Real Estate knowledge and experience a plus

- Flexibility to work overtime and travel to different sites
